Just Another Day at the Office

Steve had to work today, and called me this morning to tell me he had his picture taken with monkeys. He went on to clarify that he was at a gas station on a run and someone with the circus pulled in. The man had monkeys in his truck, and, Steve says, camels. I know this story sounds unbelievable, but here are pictures to prove it (the monkeys, anyway).

This monkey (the furry animal, not the man in the uniform) was the monkey in "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective".

This one used to be a lab monkey for pain medication. Steve said that he was fingerless and that he didn't like white lab coats or syringes.

Pigtails and Baseball

After Sophie's bath this morning, I wanted to see if her hair was long enough to put in pigtails. It's so curly that it's hard to tell how long her hair actually is. As you can see, I was able to. Sophie absolutely loved them! She was so stinkin' cute too! She kept asking me to put my hair in pigtails, but I didn't.

Tonight we were able to attend the Indianapolis Indians baseball game. Steve's cousin had gotten us discount tickets through her employer. She came down with her mom and daughter, and Steve's parents went as well. They had seats on the first base line, but we brought a blanket and sat in the outfield. There was no way Eli would have sat on our laps for 3 hours without getting fidgety. This was Sophie's third trip to Victory Field and Eli's first. We all had a good time, even though we left during the 4th inning due to storms rolling through.

Radio Flyer

When I was little, my sister and I would go to my Mamaw's house, hop in the Radio Flyer, and ride down the hill. At the end of the hill was a ravine with a small wooden bridge. The goal was to ride down the hill and go right over the bridge. As long as I was in front and steering, we coasted over the bridge every time. The ONE time I let my sister steer, she got the right two tires on the bridge, but the left two slipped off the edge, plummeting us into the water. I never let her steer again.

Sophie and Eli got a Radio Flyer for Christmas. Eli has been taking his sweet time in learning to sit up by himself. In the past few weeks, he finally got the hang of it without falling over to one side. Last night, we took a walk around the block. Seeing my two babies in their wagon brought back the memories of my sister and I in our wagon. Luckily for Steve and I, the land around us is flat. Sophie and Eli still have a few years before we let them ride down hills!
