God's Children

I could just sit all night and watch my children interact with each other. Sophie loves her little brother to pieces and is constantly petting his face or giving him hugs. Eli is absolutely mesmerized by his big sister and constantly watches her and laughs and smiles when she comes into a room. Eli was having some "tummy time" last night, and of course Sophie had to get down right next to him and play with him. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to grab the camera and take a picture or two. Watching them grow just reaffirms my belief that God is great.

Easter

We went up to Logansport for Easter this year to Steve's aunt and uncle's house. Every year, they have an Easter egg hunt for the little children. This was Sophie's first time hunting eggs as she wasn't quite walking yet last Easter. She finally got the hang of it after looking at us like she was asking, "why am I finding eggs and putting them in a basket?" She really enjoyed opening them and getting all the candy! Eli hung out inside with Grandma Crowe. Next year, Sophie will have some competition!

Bristol

Steve and I were able to get away this weekend and go down to Bristol, Tennessee for the Nascar race. Steve is a big Jeff Gordon fan, and I figured since I'm going to be going to at least two Nascar races a year for the rest of my life (not to mention Steve makes me watch the races every Sunday) I should pick a driver of my own. To Steve's dismay, I am now a Dale Earnhardt, Jr. fan. I even bought a Dale Jr. shirt (aak!). Neither of our drivers won (although Jr. finished better than Gordon), Jeff Burton took the checkered flag. It was nice to get away and just have some "us" time. I was happy when we got home, though. I missed my babies!

RSV

The three dreaded letters that no parent wants to hear...RSV. Eli has it. He started coughing Tuesday night, so we put the humidifier in his room and listened to him cough all night. He did okay at the babysitter's on Wednesday, although he still coughed all day. He did better Wednesday night, but Thursday morning he was coughing and wheezing and he felt hot. I took him to the doctor Thursday morning with the intention to take him to my mother-in-law's house after that, and then go to work. The doctor listened to his chest and immediately wanted Eli to have a breathing treatment. I was not prepared for that at all. I had to fight back my anxiety and tears to hold Eli and keep the breathing mask on his face while he screamed. His scream was a hoarse whisper due to his throat being sore. After the treatment, he sounded a little bit better. He is now doing breathing treatments every four hours for the next two weeks. A home health aide came to the house on Thursday after I got home from the doctor to deliver the nebulizer. We take him back to the doctor on Good Friday, and hopefully we'll get to stop the breathing treatments after that. He is getting better about sitting there, although he still sometimes fusses and fidgets. He had more energy today than he has all week. I'll be so happy when I get my little man back.
